LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A morning holdup at a Louisville business led the store to close early Sunday.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, a man entered a Family Dollar on Kristin Way off Cane Run Road near Crums Lane a little before 11 a.m. and demanded the business' cash.

The man was armed with a knife, police said, and fled the store on foot after the robbery. Detectives describe the robber as a black male standing 5'10" and weighing approximately 150 lbs. The amount of money he got away with is not known at this time.

EMS responded to the scene to check on a female who was shook up after the incident, but she was not injured.

When our crew got to the scene Sunday, they found the store had closed early for the day.

LMPD Robbery Unit is investigating the details of this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous police tipline at 574-LMPD.
