Ron Jeremy to join local church debate on porn

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

"The Great Porn Debate" will be hosted by City Church at the Old National Events Plaza in Evansville.

Organizers say the audience will watch an interesting 'debate' between Craig Gross, the Porn Pastor, and Ron Jeremy, the Porn King.

City Church Pastor Jeff Kinkade says his church is hosting the event because he wants to deal with the issue that he says impacts everyone.

Kinkade says porn is a problem when it's kept in the dark and isn't being talked about.

He tells us the debate isn't meant to shame or guilty anyone, rather it's a chance to have a very candid conversation.

"I think the biggest issue is that this is a thing that people don't want to talk about," said Kinkade. "Who better to bring it up that a church? We are pro-sex. But at the same time, we also recognize that sexuality wrongly expressed can create enormous issue in people's lives. So we just want to help. And I think it's a great role for a church to play."

The Great Porn Debate is going to be held on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 at the Old National Events Plaza. Tickets are $10.

All are welcome, but organizers are suggesting children 16 years and under do not attend.

There also will be an event on Saturday morning called Porn and Parents.

It's free to attend and focuses on educating parents on how to deal with porn and their children.
