Cool is the rule
Temperatures are even cooler this morning with lows sinking into the 50's. Temps will be close to a record low 55 degrees, set in 1965. Byron says like Monday, today will be a pleasant and comfortable for late July day with high temps in the upper 70's under partly to mostly sunny skies. Much cooler and drier weather will be felt most of this week.
School starts & disputes
As, students at St. Theresa Catholic school head back to class this morning, first of the Evansville diocese's 28 Catholic schools to begin the new school year, emotions run high during the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Board Meeting last night. Members of the Teamster's Local 215 who work for the EVSC tell the school board they want a contract.
It's a chance to spend an evening at Mesker Park Zoo during Twilight Tuesdays tonight. For several weeks this summer, the zoo is offering extended hours once a week. Deanna Allbrittin is live on Sunrise with the details.
Habitat house dedication
Gibbs Die Cast and Audubon Metals are promoting a community give back in conjunction with the Habit for Humanity of Henderson. Today, they're encouraging folks to come out and help them celebrate the 52nd house that's been built thanks to the "Hogan Home Project." Emily Busby has the details.
So enjoy this nice July weather and we'll see you on Sunrise.
