Health Center hosts 6th grade BLITZ

In McLean County, some University of Louisville students are getting hands on experience while helping the community.

More than a dozen pre-med and medical students set up shop tonight at the County Health Center in Calhoun giving free school physicals and vaccines to sixth graders. The event allows medical students to get involved in the community and also teaches children about healthy habits.

"We screen hearing, vision, and make sure they have immunizations and if there is anything else...if we find a physical problem that will keep them from doing well in school then we can get them to the right people," said Dr. Bill Crump, Baptist Health Madisonville.

Another free clinic will happen on July 30th. To schedule an appointment you can call the McLean County Health Center at (270) 273-3062.
