Sign up for hunter safety course in Gibson County

OAKLAND CITY, IN (WFIE) -

The Oakland City Public Library will offer the Indiana Hunter Safety course to the public.

The free course is a minimum 10 hours which covers topics dealing with hunter responsibility, firearms safety, water safety, at laws, archery, muzzle loader hunting handguns and wildlife management.

The dates are Saturday, August 16 and Saturday August 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Attendance each day is required for certification.

This course will meet the requirements for hunters born after Dec. 31, 1986 that need a certification before they can purchase a hunting license.

The course will be held at the Oakland City Public Library at 210 S. Main St.

Pre-registration is required.

There's a limit of 20 students for this class.
