LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man is facing a escape charge after he failed to return to jail after being released to find a job more than a year ago.
John Gilbert Shirley, 34, was serving his sentence at Community Correctional Center at 316. E. Chestnut. An arrest warrant says that on March 4, 2013, Gilbert had been given a limited release in order to find a job.
Shirley was charged with escape when he failed to return to CCC. He was serving time for probation violation, multiple bench warrants identity theft and drug charges. In addition to escape, Shirley was arrested July 20 on another charge of identity theft.
