LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - May the force be with the Louisville Bats on Sunday, July 27 when the team hosts its first ever Star Wars Night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Gates for the 6:05 p.m. game will open at 5 p.m., and all fans dressed in a Star Wars costume will receive a $3 discount on field reserved and premium seat tickets.

About 15 Star Wars characters, including Darth Vader, R2D2 and Princess Leia, will greet fans in the Hall of Fame Pavilion from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Bats players will wear special edition Star Wars jerseys, modeled after the Rebel flight suits. They will be auctioned online following the game. The auction will run from 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28 until 10 am. on Monday, August 4. All proceeds will benefit Kosair Children's Hospital.

Fans attending Star Wars Night may also receieve a voucher for a free hot dog and small Pepsi for donating a new children's book to the UPS Store Toys for Tots Literacy Program.

The Bats will play the Charlotte Knights on Star Wars Night.
