Pike Co. girl hurt in dog attack, owner facing charges

A Pike County girl is hurt in a dog attack and the owner of the dogs is now facing charges.

The Pike County Prosecutor's Office says it happened Thursday in Winslow near the intersection of County Road 475 South and County Road 50 East.

Officials say two dogs belonging to James Young attacked the girl without provocation.

Dispatch says an ambulance had to be called to the scene. Authorities say the girl received deep cuts to her upper leg area.

The prosecutor's office says Young failed to restrain the dogs and is facing two counts of Failure to Restrain Dog, Class A Misdemeanor.
