LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

  1. Weather - Get the sunglasses ready! Christie Dutton says wall-to-wall sunshine is in the forecast today with low humidity and below normal temperatures
  2. GE appliances - Thousands of local workers are nervous after a Bloomberg report that GE is interested in selling its appliances division. GE has not commented on the report. 
  3. Fire districts funding - The public debate about suburban emergency medical services continues after several fire districts decided to stop responding to all but the most high-priority medical calls. The fire chiefs rejected Mayor Greg Fischer’s offer of $1 million to help with the costs of the calls, and said the number should be closer to $6 million
  4. Skating rink issues - Several south Louisville neighbors are upset about skating parties that have been spilling into the street. Promoters say the parties are one way to keep teenagers out of trouble. 
  5. Bank robberies - Two arrests have been made after three banks were robbed in a span of a little more than an hour Wednesday. Police are investigating whether the two men were working together.
  6. Restaurant holdup - Two masked men forced their way into a Dairy Queen, fired a shot into the ceiling and demanded cash Wednesday, according to the owner of the fast food restaurant. 
  7. Incredible Dave’s suspect - The pregnant woman who stands accused of murdering her husband outside of a popular Louisville restaurant is due in court today. Police say 28-year-old Toya Mathis ran over and killed 31-year-old Thaddius Thomas in the parking lot of Incredible Dave's off Westport Road in May
  8. EPA regulations - The Environmental Protection Agency will not have public hearings in Kentucky on its proposed new emission standards, despite a plea from Sen. Mitch McConnell. 
  9. Yum! Center gymnastics - The USA Gymnastics Championships roll on today at the KFC Yum Center. 
  10. Forecastle preps - The Forecastle Festival starts tomorrow. Local restaurants and hotels are banking on a successful event{dot}
