Evansville City Council members say there's not much they can do to lessen the number of days people can legally set off fireworks after Fourth of July.
Council President John Friend tells us City Council Attorney Scott Danks notified him the state has clear laws about the dates and times Hoosiers can shoot off fireworks.
Those laws don't give local governments any permissions to modify the rules.
Friend adds says a push to change those laws would have to come through state reps in the general assembly.
