Dog saves young Madisonville boy having seizure

MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) -

Lottie the dog was abandoned at the Animal Medical Center in Madisonville by her former owners.

She sat for over a year before another family adopted her, and now a young boy is called Lottie an angel.

Family friends tell us the four-year-old began having a seizure in the middle of the night. Lottie realized something was wrong and started barking to wake up the little boy's grandparents.

Phyllis Johnson says Lottie wasn't going to leave that young boy's side.

"Lottie dog just came up and sat right beside him until the EMTs came and took the little boy out." said Phyllis.

The young boy was flown to a hospital, but has since returned home.

We're told the young boy never had a seizure before then, and will be on medication for two years. He is expected to make a full recovery.
