The 'Drive Now, Text Later' program recently held a state-wide competition among high schoolers and college students, challenging young people to come up with the most creative online videos demonstrating the dangers of texting and driving.
Three Perry County college students, Austin Hoffman, Logan Schroering, and Mark Belcher, created a six-second video on Vine and won the 'Most Creative on Vine' category, and will receive scholarships from the State of Indiana.
The students will be honored at an awards ceremony by Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and each will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
"It feels really good," said Austin. "You can help yourself out with college with the five grand. I mean, that helps out tremendously."
The awards ceremony will be held Friday at the Indiana Statehouse.
