With some area schools starting again in less than a month, school supply sales at Target on the East Side of Evansville have already been substantial.
This year, Target is more aggressively pushing products under their store brand label, Up & Up as part of a new back-to-school campaign.
The social responsibility commitment is called "Buy One Give One."
For every Up & Up brand school supply purchased, Target will donate the same supply to the Kids In Need Foundation until they reach $25 million worth of donations.
The Kids In Need Foundation supplies low-income kids across the nation whose parents can't afford school supplies.
They also want to remind people that they can save money while helping others by shopping the Up & Up Brand.
14 News Sunrise reporter Deanna Allbrittin went to Target Wednesday morning and gathered every item on the Oakdale Elementary School's 1st Grade school supply list. The total for all those items was $36.30 before tax.
