One for the books

Something happened that hadn't in Evansville for 117 years on Tuesday.  The high temperature only reached 74 degrees which sets a new record for the minimum high temperature for the date. The old record was 75 degrees set in 1897.

Cool still the rule

High pressure will drag cooler air from Canada thorough Friday. Highs will run 13-15 degrees below normal, and lows will sink middle 50s.  Temps will increase over the weekend and southerly winds return but high temps will remain slightly below normal for this time of year. Byron has the 14 First Alert forecast.

Evansville explosion

There was an explosion under the Lloyd expressway in Evansville overnight. Neighbors told police they heard a loud boom and then they saw pictures moving on the walls of their houses. A bomb squad responded to the scene at Tekoppel and the Lloyd and found what appeared to be fireworks that had been manipulated into an explosive device.

Back to school shopping

We know your kids don't want to think about it, but school is starting back up in many areas in less than a month. And for many parents, that means it's time to go back-to-school shopping. Deanna Allbrittin is live at Target with the details.

Bluegrass camp

And Emily Busby is live in Owensboro to tell us about Bluegrass camp.

All that and so much more on Sunrise.  Hope to see you between 4:30-7am.

Have a great day.

Dan
