The Henderson County Historical Society is looking for help in funding a historical marker honoring Niagara-native Louis "Grandpa" Jones.
The group started raising money for the marker last year and say its taking longer than expected to reach their $2,500 goal.
The Kentucky Historical Society gave the go-ahead for the marker, but they need the money to inscribe it.
Linda Hallmark with the historical society says, "I'm kind of disappointed that it didn't go as quickly as I thought. Of course I'm historically minded, so I'm thinking, OK, this is going to go really fast and it hasn't."
"Grandpa Jones" was born in 1913 near Niagara.
He performed at the Grand Old Opry in Nashville and was also a cast member on the T-V Show, "Hee Haw."
