GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Gibson County woman was arrested for trespassing over the weekend.

According to the sheriff's office, just before 4 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a call about a prowler in the 400 block of West Emerson Street in Princeton.

The homeowners told officials that they awoke to their dog barking and found a woman standing inside their home outside of their daughter's room.

The homeowners took the woman, identified as 36-year-old Karen Shearer, of Patoka, outside until authorities arrived.

The sheriff's office says Shearer had been at a local bar and was very intoxicated. Authorities say after leaving the bar she walked several blocks and entered the home.

Shearer was taken to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Residential Entry. She has since posted a $750 bond.
