WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -

A new candidate has been appointed to run for Warrick County Circuit Judge.

Warrick County Republican Chairman Mike Griffen tells 14 News he has appointed Greg Granger to run to fill the vacancy left by Todd Corne.

Corne defeated Granger in the primary by about 300 votes.

Chairman Griffen says he met with two interested candidates, Granger and current prosecutor JoAnn Krantz.

Chairman Griffen tells us he heard from both potential candidates, but felt Granger was a better choice.

Griffen has he chose to nominate someone rather than hold a caucus because they were in a time crunch to get new candidate out there.

14 News is continuing to follow these developments, and we will have the latest on air, online at 14News.com and on mobile with the 14 News mobile app.
