Evansville police are investigating a possible arson in the 1000 block of Bayard Park Drive.
Patricia Farris was relaxing Saturday night when she saw fire trucks pull up near her house.
She says there was a lot of commotion on Bayard Park Drive.
"There were a lot of people running around, talking and trying to figure out what was going on," says Farris. "So were we."
Farris says as she went out to see what was happening she saw the flames looked as though they were taking over the house next to it, just one house away from hers.
"The flames in the back were big," says Farris. "I never saw them from the front, but they were coming over and past the house right across the street from me."
Farris says she has lived on Bayard Park since January and there has been many issues on the street.
She says she had some relief finding out the fire was two houses away but for it to still be that close is still scary for her.
"That was bad but it was the next house over so that was not so bad," says Farris. "It made me feel a little relieved it wasn't that close, but it's still scary."
She says as she watched crews put out the fire she began to think her neighbors that live right next to the house.
"That house sat in between two houses that's really close," says Farris. "It could have easily went over and been a fire in one of those houses and there's seniors living in those houses."
Farris says she didn't know the woman who lived in that house.
If you have any information on the fire, you can call Evansville Police.
