BOONVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Dusty Marchand of St. Mary's Warrick EMS won an award for 'Indiana EMS Person of the Year' on Saturday.

This marks the third time in the past five years someone from the service has won the award.

Dusty says he was surprised when he won the award.

He says, after working in other counties, he thinks Warrick County has the best ambulance service available.

"Most of the people here have been in EMS a long time whether it's here or somewhere else and they've come here," says Dusty. "I really appreciate everything that's been done for me here."

The award is presented by the American Legion.

Dusty was also awarded with the county and district EMS person of the year, nominating him for the award.
