Amber alert canceled for missing Pittsylvania County teen

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

An amber alert for 15-year-old Dustin Shaver from Pittsylvania County has been canceled.

Deputies say Dustin was found safe in Benson, North Carolina. Dustin was believed to be in extreme danger.

All three suspects are in custody in North Carolina. Denise Shaver, Dustin's Biological Mother, and Kevin Parrish are being held in the Johnston County Jail.  Kayla Hoy is being held in Wake County, North Carolina.

All three subjects have been charged with abduction and are awaiting the extradition process. The arrests in this case were made without incident.

    A woman has died, after police say she was struck by a van in Richmond. Police say the woman was walking across the 1100 block of Azalea Avenue around 3 p.m. Saturday, when she was struck by a van turning left off Seminary Avenue. The driver of that van stayed on the scene. Police say the woman was already dead when they got to the scene. The driver is not facing charges at this time. The investigation continues, as police work to notify the victim's family.
