WAYNE CO., IL (WFIE) -

A Fairfield, IL high school teacher and coach accused of videotaping girls in a school locker room has resigned.

School board officials accepted 43-year-old Timothy Going's resignation at a special meeting Thursday night.

Going was previously suspended with pay per the district's policy.

Authorities believe Going secretly put a motion-activated video camera in the Fairfield Community High School locker room.

Going is also facing charges in Fairview Heights, Illinois for allegedly videotaping two young girls in a motel bathroom.

Along with those charges, federal prosecutors have charged Going with attempted exploitation of a minor and possession of visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Authorities say they found images on Going's computer while searching his home.

Going will appear in Federal Court July 21.
