Cindy Brogan, a teacher at Princeton Community Intermediate School, is hero in the eyes of her family and friends but she says she was just doing her job.
Cindy is godmother and aunt to 14-year-old-Laynie Speicher and when Laynie became sick in December Cindy stepped in.
Laynie needed a kidney transplant and before Cindy even knew if she was a match she was already planning on donating her own kidney to her niece.
"My final testing results came back in April," says Cindy. "It was blood work and urine analysis and once I knew that I was going to be the one who was donating it was a done deal in May. We had our date set."
The surgery took place last month and now both Cindy and Laynie say they feel great.
