LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man accused of murder had to be restrained by deputies after he attacked his attorney.

Kentay J. Hunter, now 19, was 17 when he was charged with the July 17, 2012 shooting death of Jesse Williams, 21, and the wounding of a woman in the leg at a home in the 2700 block of Grand Avenue.

About 35 minutes into a statement suppression hearing on July 10, Hunter stood up at the defense table and asked the judge for new public defender claiming Josh Roberts had a conflict of interest. After being told to sit down, Hunter continued his statement. As deputies started to remove him from the courtroom for using profanity, the handcuffed Hunter stood up, spit on his attorney and tried to strike him.

Hunter was taken to the floor by deputies and removed from the courtroom. Roberts told the judge he was not injured.
