Safety is a major concern for plant managers and business owners on Ohio Drive in Henderson County and now they're trying to take some action
Right now, That section of Henderson County is served by the Smith Mills Volunteer Fire Department, which is about nine miles away.
Plant managers there say if there were to be fire at any of the warehouses, and there was a train stopped on the tracks at the crossing on US-60, that could cause a problem.
They also say there's a lot of congestion in the area which causes safety concerns for drivers.
Plant managers, went to Kyndle to find a solution and one thing being discussed is annexing that part of the county into the city so they could receive city services.
"its all about safety of our of our property and mainly our employees out here," says Bill Oath, a plant manager at Teknor Color Company.
The plant managers are now forming a subcomittee to see what they can do to improve safety in the area.
