Indiana's Blue Ribbon Panel released their findings on the top priorities for the states transportation needs.
Completing I-69 from Evansville to Indianapolis and building a bridge over the Ohio River are high on the list.
Completing the corridor from Evansville to Indy is higher on the list, but the Blue Ribbon panel all agree the projects are important for Indiana's future.
Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke says he and Henderson Mayor, Steve Austin, met with Governor Pence a couple of weeks ago and presented new data that the I-69 bridge would not be as much as they expected.
"What we've agreed to do is make sure that everyone in our respective states, all the key decision makers, are aware of the importance of this project. We certainly believe we are accomplishing that in the state of Indiana and I think we're accomplishing that in the state of Kentucky too," says Winnecke.
Brad Schneider with Kyndle says, "it's awesome to know that Indiana values the bridge as much as we do in Western Kentucky and not that we ever doubted that but now we have an official stamp of approval from a state appointed commission.
Both states are looking at the data for funding the project.
Mayor Winnecke told 14 News that he has asked both governors to look into funding an Environmental Impact study to get the project moving.
