The Toyota plant in Gibson County is prepared to go above and beyond the expected number of new employees hired for 2014.
Officials with Toyota announced 200 new jobs at the beginning of the year but now, with more than 5 months left in the year, Toyota is looking to hire 60 more employees.
This will push the grand total to 240.
The spokesperson for Toyota says the new jobs that are needed because of the high number of sales.
"Anytime that our hiring and our production increases, it also means a ripple effect with all of our suppliers in the region," says Toyota spokesperson, Kelly Dillion, "so they would either be producing more or hiring additional team members as well so its good for the overall economy and certainly great for Toyota."
Dillion says she hopes there will be additional jobs available later on in the year.
