Evansville Otters and Red Cross to host Military Appreciation Night

Posted: Updated:

The Red Cross provides many services to military families, but hope to reach more families than ever by partnering with the Otters during their Military Appreciation Night game.

Military Appreciation Night is sponsored by Budweiser so fans 21 and over can buy 25-ounce cans of beer for $4. This is the only night of the season this special will be available.

The Otters and the Red Cross aren't forgetting about military kids during the night.

At the game, one service member's child will receive a scholarship and the Red Cross will continue collecting school supplies for the Backpacks for Military Kids event.

The packs will be given to children whose parents have served or are currently serving in the military. The Red Cross wants to collect 800 backpacks and enough supplies to fill them all by the end of the game tomorrow.

You can donate at the local Red Cross at any time, but they will be hosting a meet-and-great to give people the chance to talk to Otters players and local veterans from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday.

The Red Cross will also be collecting donations at the game, but if you donate before the game, you'll receive a free ticket.
