The next session of free art camps at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art is now open for registration.
The second in the 2014 series of free art camps is scheduled July 15 to July 18 for children ages 6 to 15.
"In the Open Air" will offer instruction in watercolor, acrylic and pastel painting, and will be led by local artists and educators.
Campers will explore the French tradition of painting outdoors, known as en plein air painting. Classes will take place on the lawn of the John Hampden Smith House and in Ryan Sculpture Park.
Selected works from the camp will be chosen for display later in the museum's Waymond O. Morris Young At Art Gallery and exhibited through August 15.
Morning camp sessions are scheduled 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. are designed for ages 6 to 9 and afternoon classes from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. are planned for ages 10 to 15.
