A new freezer room is being added to the end of the cafeteria at Caze Elementary School.
ARC Construction officials say they brought their equipment on Thursday with construction set to start on Monday.
When they came back from the holiday weekend they found their equipment had been vandalized including a broken window and sand in the gas tank.
Vice President for ARC Jamie Bateman says when crews arrived, they found some of the fence missing.
Then they noticed the mortar had been poured into the mixer and was hardened along with the machinery being vandalized.
Bateman says all of the damage will cost them about $10,000 dollars.
"That's just roughly on the equipment," says Bateman. Plus, I had a crew I had to send home without a day of work. School-wise, it's going to effect the schedule. Trying to get it done as quick as we can for school and we need each and every day."
Bateman says they are working with police to up patrols in the area.
The crew will also move the equipment to the front of the school at the end of the day to up lighting and visibility.
