Identity of man found dead at quarry released

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The identity of a man whose body was recovered from rock quarry has been released.

According to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Cindy Thoene, David Morris Jr., 26, was pronounced dead at 2 p.m. Tuesday after he drowned at the Southside Quarry, located at 4220 South Park Road.

After his body was discovered the Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit launched a death investigation, but an autopsy showed no foul play in his death.

Thoene said funeral arrangements for Morris are pending.
