Fire crews battled flames at two vacant Evansville homes and a northern Vanderburgh County field.
All three are being investigated as arsons.
The first fire happened after midnight Saturday on E. Powell Ave.
Fire Investigator Richard Howard tells us a K9 identified some type of accelerant on the second floor and on the stairs leading to the third floor.
Those samples were sent to the crime lab for testing.
German Township Fire was called to field fire along Baseline Road on Sunday afternoon.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding says the wheat fields along the road were intentionally set on fire and were not part of a controlled burn.
Officials feared the fire would burn neighboring homes, but they were able to get it under control.
The sheriff says investigators believe that fire was intentionally set.
Just after 1:00 a.m. Monday, a passerby noticed smoke coming out of a home in the 200 block of S. Bedford Ave.
Investigators believe someone set the mattress on fire in one of the bedrooms.
Officials also believe that first was intentionally set.
Officials tell us no one was home during the house fires, and no one was injured.
Investigators tell us runs for fires, accidental and arson, are down compared to previous years.
