Motorists are being advised to reduce speed and exercise caution as INDOT begins a seal coat project on State Route 65 in Gibson County.
INDOT says loose stone will be on the road during the initial phase of the project and it can damage vehicles if they are speeding or following too closely.
The seal coat will help protect the roadway from moisture, ultraviolet rays and other damage.
Work begins Monday on SR 65 in the Town of Cynthiana beginning at Evansville Street, runs through Owensville, and ends at Mill Street by the Post Office.
Crews will begin each day at 7:00 a.m. local time and wrap up by 5:00 p.m.
Once complete, seal coating will begin on SR 65 and SR 68 (Evansville Street) and head south to SR 66 in Vanderburgh County.
INDOT says the work is estimated to be complete by July 18 weather permitting.
