A Henderson man is facing a long list of charges after officials say he tried avoiding a sobriety checkpoint.

Kentucky State Police say 44-year-old Jason Brown turned off U.S. 60 East for several miles.

They say he turned back onto U.S. 60 East and hit a patrol vehicle on the passenger side when a trooper attempted to avoid a head-on collision.

Authorities say Brown continued to accelerate and forced two other patrol vehicles off the roadway.

Troopers say Brown lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree before coming to a stop.

He was taken into custody and faces a long list of charges.

Those charges include speeding, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, wanton endangerment, assaulting a police officer, OMVUI, DUI with a suspended license, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, possession of open alcoholic beverage contained in motor vehicle, failure to or improper signal, disregarding stop sign, failure to wear a seat belt.
