HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) -

Cowboy Jones, who was born and raised in Herrin, Illinois, began riding horses at Ellis Park in 1959.

His new biography is called "The Legendary RA Cowboy Jones: Over 50 Years as a Jockey."

The book was just published two weeks ago but Cowboy says he is getting great feedback from his fans.

They tell him they are excited to read his story.

"There's a story behind every picture and the pictures just go from one thing to another," says Cowboy. "From the birth of my little girl to the first race I ever rode and the last one I rode and the people and the places where I rode at."

If you missed the book signing on Saturday you can catch him again on July 19 at Barnes and Noble in Evansville.
