SCOTT COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - Police say a woman who hit a man with her car and crashed into a yard fled the scene by getting a ride with a passing driver.

Carrie Brough, 31, of Austin is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license.

On July 3, police found a jogger lying in a ditch by the side of Booe Road in Austin, according to Sgt. Jerry Goodin with the Indiana State Police. The jogger was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with injuries that Goodin said were not life-threatening. Police said that Brough left the scene without checking on the victim.

Brough was arrested later at a home on Water Tower Road just north of Austin in Scott County. She is being held at the Scott County jail.
