Police investigating stabbing on Evansville's west side

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Police are investigating a stabbing on Evansville's west side.

EPD says two victims were near Tekoppel Elementary School when they say they were "jumped" by a suspect with a knife.

Police say each of the victims was stabbed before they were able to run away.

EPD took the report when the victims showed up at the hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

This is a high traffic area where young children come to play which has some residents concerned.

"It makes me frightened and afraid," says area resident Brian Attebery. "I'm frightened because of all the people that are here but I'm also angry because why would you want to do that in a place where children and people come to play and spend time with each other. It's just, it's not right."

We're told police do not have any suspects in the case and the investigation is ongoing.
