ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) - A Hardin County man critically injured in an ATV wreck suffered a setback in his recovery, according to information provided by friends and family.
According to a Facebook page that provides updates on his condition, Brice Taylor suffered a stroke on the morning of July 2. Taylor was injured when his ATV hit a deer June 30, eight days after his sister was killed in an accident with a suspected drunk driver. Doctors will learn more about the severity of Taylor's condition as they reduce the amount of sedatives he is receiving, the Fight for Brice page says.
A fundraiser for Taylor will be held at Dix-E-Town Lanes bowling alley in Elizabethtown on July 3. The money received will be put into an account set up to help pay for the expenses related to Taylor's treatment. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and costs $20 per person or $50 for a family of four.
Taylor's sister, Brianna, was killed on June 22 when she was involved in a wreck with Michael Hilton, who is now charged with murder and aggravated DUI. Another teenage girl, Mickayla Harig, was also taken to the hospital. Doctors were hopeful about her condition at last update.
In 2006, Hilton was sentenced to three years in prison for repeated DUI violations. He is being held at Hardin County Detention Center on a $1 million bond. He was scheduled to appear in court at 8:45 a.m. July 3.
