The live racing season starts Thursday at Ellis Park in Henderson.
There have been several upgrades, including work on the restrooms and clubhouse areas.
The instant racing machines will operate during the live racing season.
Officials say instant racing was up 67% in June, and the purses are higher this year.
Officials tell us the track received additional money from the Kentucky Thoroughbred Development fund.
"All of our allowance races will be worth $5,000 more," said Bob Jackson. "The maiden race is $5,000 and we're going to implement two 2-year-old stakes we used to run here which will be $100,000 a piece."
There are eight races Thursday. Post time for the first race is 12:50 p.m.
