RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Working with meteorologists for Dominion to determine the impact of Tropical Storm Arthur, Venture Richmond has made the decision to move the Fireworks on the James show to Saturday night.

The show was originally scheduled for Thursday.

Venture Richmond said that food vendors will be on site for the July 5 fireworks show by 6 p.m. Grucci's fireworks show will start at approximately 9:15 p.m. The pre-fireworks entertainment that had been scheduled for July 3 will not take place as part of the July 5 rescheduled event.

More than 2,000 shells of fireworks are set ready to go off from Belle Isle.

This is the fourth year for the Fireworks on the James. Fireworks by Grucci has put on the show each year and calls this one a must see.

"Grucci does different levels of shows in the United States. There is a city class, national class, state class and world class. This production in Richmond is world class and I'll even call it in my opinion world class plus," said Douglas Zastrow, a technician for Firework by Grucci.

An unwanted guest could put this so-called world class show on hold. Quite a bit of rain is expected Thursday afternoon and evening.

Fireworks can go off in the rain as long as there is no thunder or lightning, but it's not ideal. Wednesday evening, Venture Richmond moved the show to Saturday night.
