Posted: Updated:

A new ride is rolling into the downtown Owensboro district.

The City Commission has started a free trolley service.

The free service encourages people to park in lots on the outskirts of downtown and then getting on the trolley to get to their destination.

City officials say the trolley will also make it easier for people working downtown to get to restaurants for lunch.

The service will cost the city a little over 68 thousand dollars and trolley will make 9 stops downtown.

The trolley will operate Monday–Wednesday 10am-10pm and Thursday-Saturday 10am-Midnight.

Stop times are approximately every 20 minutes at the following downtown locations:

  • 2nd & Crittenden
  • 2nd & Daviess
  • 2nd & Allen
  • 2nd & St. Ann
  • 2nd & Locust
