A new traffic law takes effect Tuesday which allows scooter and motorcycle riders to go through red lights under certain conditions.
Road sensors don't always detect scooters sitting at traffic lights due to their small size and low weight.
The new law states that anyone driving a scooter, moped or motorcycle, who's at a red light for two minutes or longer, may proceed through the intersection with caution without being cited.
Some say the law will be abused by people who won't wait the full two minutes.
Police believe it will be difficult to enforce the law.
