LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man has been charged with burglary and receiving stolen property after it was found that he had run an extension cord from a neighboring property into his house.
On June 22, a realtor went to a home in the 9900 block of Shirewick Way and found the extension cord running from the home of his client to the house next door. After being called by the realtor, the homeowner arrived and took photos of the cord. He then parked his vehicle to keep it from being removed. He also took pictures of William E. Kennedy, Kennedy’s girlfriend, another man and two children fleeing from the neighboring home.
When police arrived, the homeowner showed officers the photos. Police spoke to someone inside the house who was able to provide them with Kennedy’s name.
After being given consent to search the property, police found a motorcycle belonging to the homeowner and had been reported stolen. The person at the house told police the motorcycle belonged to Kennedy.
Kennedy, 49, was arrested June 27 and booked into Louisville Metro Corrections.
