EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville man is arrested on charges of child neglect and drunk driving more than three times over the legal limit.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office responded to a custody exchange Sunday after a woman was concerned her ex-husband may have been drinking while bringing her children home.

While on scene they say 40-year-old Donald Wallace Jr. drove by with his two kids in the back seat.

They say he sped away, ran over a curb, which caused two wheels to lift off the ground

A witness said he could hear the children screaming and crying as Wallace drove by.

When deputies caught Wallace they say he was uncooperative and had to be restrained.

He was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where a breath test result read he had a BAC of .26%, which is three times the legal limit.

Wallace was arrested and charged with child neglect, DUI, and resisting law enforcement.
