A missing elderly woman from Henderson was found safe Thursday night thanks in part to a nation-wide program to track people if they wander off.
Project Lifesaver involves a locator device a patient wears on the wrist.
Henderson City-County Rescue Squad Chief Bryant Woodard says they didn't actually use the technology to find the missing woman but having it helped narrow down her location.
"We did notify Vanderburgh County," says Woodard. "She used to work over there so we thought maybe she thought she was going to work. That helped cover that area. We were also in the process of notifying Daviess county."
Woodard says they've had to use project lifesaver twice and at least five people in the county are wearing the device.
