Henderson restaurant helping local mother and daughter battle cancer

HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - A Henderson mother and her daughter share a lot of things together. Now both have cancer and it's a fight they're battling together.

Becky Williams was diagnosed with breast cancer back in May and her daughter, Alicia, was diagnosed with Lymphoma a week earlier so Becky's employer, Dennys, in Henderson, is trying to do something to help out.

Becky has been working at the same restaurant for 42 years. First it was a Jerry's, now its Dennys.

She says her co-workers are like family and would do anything for her. Now, they're holding fundraiser's around town to help with medical bills and other fees associate with Becky's and her daughter Alicia's cancer.

Becky says its really helpful to have such a large and supportive family.

"It's wonderful, I mean you don't know what a great bunch of people you got until something really happens," says Becky

Rene Parker works with Becky and says, "if you ever need a shoulder to lean on or anything she's always there, you can always turn to her for anything."

Becky says her and her daughters doctors say their outlook is good.

If you're interested in donating- there are donation cans set up at Denny's on the US-41 strip in Henderson and Swifty Gas. You can also call the Henderson Dennys at (270) 827-2586.
