SPENCER CO., IN (WFIE) -

Crews respond to the scene of a wreck involving a semi in Spencer Co.

It happened just before 5 Friday morning near HWY 70 and U.S. 231.

Dispatchers tell 14 News the semi truck struck a car.

Authorities say the driver of the car, Nina Carnahan, of Gentryville, stopped at the stop sign on 70 and then went through the intersection right into the path of an Advanced Disposal Service truck traveling southbound on 231.

Deputies say the semi driver is okay, but Carnahan was taken to St. Mary's for neck, back and shoulder injuries.

Officials say she was treated and then released from the hospital.

At one point, crews were re-rerouting traffic to Old 231. Authorities say the scene is clear now and traffic is moving at a normal pace again.
