14 News has learned the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago rejected an Evansville church's appeal of a federal judge's decision not to allow the display of 30 crosses along the river front.
The Court of Appeals says the church lacks standing.
Last summer, a federal judge ruled the display would violate the establishment clause of the first amendment.
That came after the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana filed a lawsuit on behalf of two residents. Read the full statement the ACLU of Indiana released about the ruling here.
A month after the ruling, Westside Christian Church filed the appeal.
