LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A heartbroken mother is pleading for the return of her cell phone following the death of her 4-year-old son.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, Darryn Kihnley was pronounced dead at Kosair Children's Hospital where he was transported after being found on the bottom of a swimming pool at a home on Beech Drive, in the Lake Dreamland neighborhood, June 21.

Kihnley's mother said her phone went missing on June 10, while she was working at Bud's Tavern on Dixie Highway.

She said she had the phone for two years and it contained around 500 pictures, mostly of her late son.

Kihnley's family and his mother's co-workers have pooled together $220 to offer as a reward for the phone, or just the SIM card containing the pictures.

Linda Hochstrasser, with Bud's Tavern, said no questions will be asked. They just want the pictures of the boy returned to his mother.

The missing phone is a light blue HTC. Anyone with questions can contact the restaurant at (502) 384-9131 for more information.
