If you are looking for a place to go and cool off this summer, the Edge Ice Center is offering ice skating lessons for all ages.

The City of Owensboro Edge Ice Center is now accepting registration for the last summer session of its weSKATE Learn-to-Skate program. The weSKATE program follows the lesson format created by the Ice Skating Institute of America (ISI), the nation's largest recreational ice skating organization.

Classes are open to all ages and abilities, and focus on recreational, figure skating, and hockey skills.

The summer session will run ever Saturday from July 12 through August second.

Class fees are $20 per person, and include one hour of ice time (30 minutes of instruction plus 30 minutes of practice ice), skate rental, two free pool passes, and two free rink passes.

Deadline to register is Thursday, July 3.

If you would like to register for the classes, contact the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administrative Center at (270) 687-8700, or the Edge Ice Center at (270) 687-8720 during business hours Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m.
