LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the Camp Taylor neighborhood of Louisville.

According to police on the scene, one person was shot and transported to University Hospital after an incident that moved between the parking lots of Chase Bank and C.T. Haircutters at 4200 Poplar Level Road Saturday afternoon.

Police believe the deceased, who was a man in his 50s, got into an altercation with another driver and they pulled off the road into the Chase parking lot at Taylor Road and Poplar Level.

Detectives pointed out broken glass in the bank parking lot where they believe the incident began. After that point of the altercation, details are scarce but police believe the deceased victim wrecked into a car parked across the street at C.T. Haircutters.

Kelly Hummelgard, who was getting his hair cut at the time of the altercation, said he heard a crash and people inside the business acknowledged one of the employee's cars had been hit in the parking lot.

"He ran out there. He ran back in and said call 911," said Hummelgard, who described the scene they found. "This guy in his car, he was sitting there, he was unconscious, covered in blood. And obviously it wasn't from the wreck," he said.

"It is shocking to see; it's disturbing."

The man who was shot was pronounced dead at the hospital around 1 p.m. His identity has not been released.

Carey Klain, spokeswoman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said officers have a person of interest and are looking for a white Ford Ranger believed to be involved.  They are calling for witnesses to step forward and share information.

Police said they will release more information on what happened as their investigation continues.
